HIIIILLLFE!!!
1 Make a short summary of the two scenes and put them into the context of the play
Akt 1 Scene 3 and 4
Frank must realize that it is very difficult to educate Rita. She still has a serverely aversion against Forster and referates an auther from an entertainmentroman. Normaly she must quote acknowledged authors. Frank uses to explain the differences between trivialromans and demanding literature but he can’t say why not all books are literature. You must know it, he says. The next scene deals with Rita’s essay in which she must write about the staging difficulties (Aufführungsprobleme) from Iben Peer Cynt. She has only write one sentence because she have had(?) no time. Frank is disappointes and uses to convinces Rita that she observes the rules of to write an essay. Frank allows her to complete the essay. Before she begins to write she express her toughts about the working-class culture(…”der sie angehört” ?? wie muss ich das schreiben? ) Members of this class have no perspectives in life. It’s only a consumer society. The results are uncertainty, problems with alcohol and violence(eigentlich soll “Zerstörungswut” gemeint sein!?) She wants to escape from the emptiness of life by searching a sence in literature and art. In the end of the scene she finishs her essay.
These two scenes are very important for the course of Rita’s way of educating. The admonitions from Frank were the releaser that Rita begins to (sich mehr bemühen!?).
She realizes what she really wants! Here studies are the importances for her! Now she shows that she will learn and that she will break out of the working-class-culture. Therefore she does all what she can! In the next scenes you can see that her studies were more important for her as the relationship between Denny and her. Before these scenes she was more unsure, because she had the feeling that she doesn’t ( in die schicht(/class passen!?). Now she knows that she would manage it when she really want it. She decides that now she only reads demanding literature.
das ist aufgabe zwei:
2 Explain the difference between pulf fiction and literature as pointed out in the two scenes.
In the moment when Frank uses to explain the differences between trivialromams and demanding literature something was made clear:
Trivial literature is subjective, demanding literatue not. Trivial literature is literature for everyone and would use as entertainment. Demanding literature on the other hand educates his reader. All the more you read demanding literature do educated you more in these area of literature. Then you can understand what demanding literature mean but you cant say why it is demanding literature(like Frank). Mostly a book witch you can call demanding literature has a message it would write in a certain way! You must more do then read the book, you must understand the message and you must read between the lines(…”zwischen den Zeilen”!?). Pulp fiction on the other hand is a light food(!? Kann man nicht so schreiben oder) and didn’t educates people. The speach of Rita symbolizes pulp fiction. Her speach is very simple not so choise< ?) (soll heißen: ihre Sprache ist eine Einfache, sie drück sich nicht gewählt aus)and she speaks colloquial. Frank („hingegen drückt sich gewählt aus“)this symbolizes the demanding literature. This shows that pulp fiction is for the middle and the(gehobene schicht-“high-class“???) class, and pulp fiction is more for the working-class. The difference is, that people of the middle class understand pulp fiction and read it for entertainment but people of the working-class have problems with understanding demanding literature
und aufgabe 3 ist jetzt- point out your own opinion on that difference and its signifance
da habe ich jetzt das geschrieben bisher, aber das ist doch nicht die antwort auf die Frage stellung! hat jeamant von euch ne idee was ich da schreiben könnte??
"At first I have to say that it is better to read a trivialroman as to read nothing! When you want entertainment a trivialroman is better for your education as tv(for example). Of course demanding literature educated you on a certain way, a better way and on a effective way! Of course demanding literature means a qualitative education! Therefore today we read demanding literature in school! ( Man muss sich langsam daran tasten), therefore young pupils read books like “Benn und Anna” –it is not demanding literature. You must begin to read, alike what it is. Rita only knows trivialromans until she start studies"
Ich hab so angst das ich ne schlecht Zensur krieg!!!
