Hallo,
ich muss einen Kapitel aus der englisch Lektüre Big mouth & ugly girl zusammenfassen, doch ich kann nicht wirklich eine summary darüber schreiben, denn diee muss kurz und knapp sein.
Vielleicht hat ja einer von den Engloschexperten dieses schon im unterricht behandelt und könnte smir helfen.
der Text wäre etwas zu lang um ihn hier einzufügen, also für personen, die sich dfür bereit stellen, bitte bescheid sagen.
Vielleicht könntet ihr mir aber schonmal sagen, wie eine Einleitung einer summary beinhalten muss.
Zum Beispiel: The chapter 20 in the book !Big mouth & ugly girl" is about Big mouth whose family sue the school and the Brewers twins because they accuse Matt, that he wants to blow up the school...

This book is about a girl that does not like herself, because she is very tall and not very feminine. She is on the basketball team and is the best player. The book also talks about Big mouth. Big mouth is a kid who certains other people by making jokes or saying stuff that no one would say. The problem of this story is that Big mouth gets in trouble for saying he was going to blow the school up and massacre the students.
After that he got in trouble and no one would talk to him except Ugly girl.
Mein problem lieg mehr darin, alles kurz und knapp zusammen zu fassen, eine nacherzählung würde mir viel leichter fallen.

deine Zusammenfassung klingt schon sehr gut. Was du mit "certains" meinst, ist mir allerdings nicht klar. Möglicherweise trifft es "insult" oder "offend" nicht ganz :confused:
Wie ist denn das Ende der Geschichte? Vielleicht könntest du dazu auch noch einen Satz schreiben.

Hallo Caitlin,
wir haben die geschichte noch nicht ganz bis zum schluss gelesen, aber ich weiß, dass Matt und Ursula sich näher kommen, sie werden ein Paar. Das buch hat insgesamt 49 kapitel und wir sind erst bei kapitel 22.
Und nochmals danke für deine korrrektur und ich hatte mich geirrt ich meinte entertains people statt certains = unterhält gerne leute.

Den letzten Teil habe ich etwas umformuliert, was du natürlich nicht übernehmen musst. Was meinst du mit "rooling"??

Summary of the provocative story of friendship and betrayal : "Big Mouth & Ugly Girl"
This book is about a girl who does not like herself, because she is very tall and not very feminine. She is on the basketball team and is the best player. The book also talks about Big mouth. Big mouth is a kid who entertains other people by making jokes or saying stuff that no one would say. The plot of this story is that Big mouth gets into trouble for saying he was going to blow the school up and massacre the students.

Matt Donaghy
Matt Donaghy, the 16-year-old boy, has always been Big Mouth. he is popular at school, makes little jokes and the girls like him. But it has never gotten him into trouble until the day when Matt is accused of threatening to blow up the high school. He is reported to the authorities and he is taken out of class to be interviewed by the police. Soon he is exonerated but he is shaken to the core by this experience. Consequently he gives up the regular column and his job as editor at the school newspaper and resigns his position as class vice-president. At last he becomes isolated and bitter once he realises that his so-called friends were not ready to stand by him in this time of need except Ursula Riggs.
Ursula Riggs
Ursula Riggs, the 16-year-old girl, has always been Ugly Girl. She is not liked by the pupils in the school, she is tall, big and plays basketball in the Rocky River team and is the best one. But one day she loses an important game for the team and is disgusted at herself, she resigns out of (this feeling of disgustion) and becomes even more of a loner. She has no time for petty high school stuff like dating and friends. And she is content with minding her own business. Unafraid of what others might think, she stands up for Matt when everyone else suspects him and comes to his aid later when, miserable, he is on the verge of suicide. Also when his beloved dog is kidnapped, Ursula again bravely comes to his rescue.
Slowly but surely a relationship develops/a bond forms between the two over the course of the winter, as Matt comes to understand the far-reaching consequences of his big mouth.
Opinion
In my opinion the story in this book is real. Maybe Others would enjoy this book too because the plot is so real and it could happen to anyone in high school.
The book gives us some great messages about friendship, dedication and doing the right thing. It also brings up the issue of personality. I liked how the story pulled me in , made me want to figure out the mysteries, and kept me rooling?? for Matt and Ursula, even if they acted difficult.

Statt rooling meinte ich rooting, hab mich verschrieben.
Ich habe noch 5 einzelne kapitel als Übung zusammengefasst wäre wirklch toll, wenn du dir noch die zeit dafür nehmen würdest, meine probleme liegen mehr darin, dass ich nciht nur im präsens schreibe. Bist mir sehr behilflich.
Vielleicht könntets du mir auch noch einige tipps geben, wie ich einen einleitungssatz sonst noch anfangen könnte.

Chapter 3
Chapter number three of the book "Big Mouth & Ugly Girl" deals with Ursula Riggs Who thinks about herself after loosing the game which makes her sad and angry about herself.
The girls from the basketball team think that Ursula has lost the game on purpose and that they will never forgive her. Ursula thinks about her father who never comes to watch her play, but has time to see Lisa, her sister dance. A short time later when she wants to leave the school, she sees many pupils talking about Matt. There she gets the information of Matt's arrest, but she does not believe that Matt, the popular joker, would be in the position to blow up the school and massacre the students.
At this moment Ursula is feeling angry, because the others believe that Matt is a terrorist.
Chapter 4
Chapter number 4 of the book "Big Mouth & Ugly Girl" is about the two detectives who talk to Matt who is scared as he does not know the reasons for his arrest, about what has happened at school.
Afterwards Matt hears that he is supposed to have said that he is going to blow up the school and to massacre the students. Another point is that the chapter shows Matt's helplessness as he is obviously innocent.
Chapter 5
Chapter 5 of the book "Big mouth & Ugly Girl" deals with Matt, the two detectives, Mr Parrish the director of the school, Matts mother and Mr Leacock the psychologist and is primarily about Matt's interrogation.
The detectives firstly interrogate Matt in the office of Mr Parrish, and they search his locker for bombs but they find nothing and after that they continue in the police headquarter.There Matt talks with his mother and then with Mr Leacock about the incident. Now Matt tries to be calm and he also does not know how to convince the officers that he is not guilty, because it is not the first time, that he makes a joke, maybe the persons who accuse him think that he wants to do it in reality.
Chapter 20
Chapter 20 of the book "Big Mouth & Ugly Girl" describes how Ursula Riggs misses Matt in the school (because he is not there anymore) and describes how the Donaghys want 50 million dollar deformation from the school for the suit.
Ursula and surely his friends feel sorry about what happened but his so-called friends are talking of Matt as a traitor. Afterwards at home her father reads the newspaper and talks with Ursula about the trouble in the article. Ursula is shocked as she sees the name Donaghy printed there. Although Ursula should tell Matt the advice from her father that the lawsuit is not right because he has had some really bad experiences with multimillion-dollar lawsuits in his business.
Chapter 21
Chapter number 21 of the book "Big Mouth & Ugly Girl" is about some boys Matt knowns from the school who follow Matt and push him down the stairs. One day while Matt is running down?/up? the steps at the end of the alley some bigger boys pursue him and call him "fag". Matt is not happy but he ignores them and begins to walk faster , as he is scared and thinks that he is in trouble. After that the boys block Matt's way and hit him (at the steps) until his nose begins to bleed and he falls down and then they run away shouting "sue-us" Matt, because the Donaghys sue the school and now it has a bad reputition. The boys do not feel guilty about mobbing Matt who does not know why they hate him so much. At last nobody likes the lawsuit and that is why Matt has problems.

Chapter 5: "...because it is not the first time, that he makes a joke, maybe the persons who accuse him think that he wants to do it in reality." - bei diesem Satz wird nicht ganz klar, was du sagen willst. Hat Matt denn einen Witz darüber gemacht, dass er die Schule in die Luft jagen würde? Ansonsten könntest du den Satz einfach weglassen und mit "... to convince the officers that he is not guilty." aufhören.
Chapter 20: "because he is not there anymore" - würde ich weglassen
" Ursula and surely his friends feel sorry about what happened but his so-called friends are talking of Matt as a traitor." - Dieser Satz ist ein bisschen kuddelmuddelig :D - solltest du nochmals umschreiben
"Ursula is shocked as she sees the name Donaghy printed there. Although Ursula should tell Matt" - das "Although" passt hier nicht rein
Chapter 21: "at the steps" - weglassen
"At last nobody likes the lawsuits and that is why Matt has problems." - dieser Satz wird auch nicht so ganz klar. Vielleicht so was wie "The boys do not feel guilty about mobbing Matt because they make him responsible for the lawsuit. But Matt does not know why they hate him so much."
Was den Einleitungssatz angeht, so helfe ich dir mit dem Englisch gerne. Da ich das Buch nicht gelesen habe, kann ich aber inhaltlich leider nichts dazu beitragen :)

Ich weiß auch schon, was vor kommt:
3 Sätze Summary über Chapter 30
beschreiben, wie sich die Beziehung zwischen Matt und Ursula veändert (in Chapter 30)
...wie drückt der Autor die Gefühle von Ursula aus und welche Effekte enstehen dadurch...
und einen Diaryeintrag von Ursula zu Chapter 30...
wäre lieb, wenn mir jemand helfen könnte...
